Wind Turbines

I’ve been wanting to get up close and personal with some Wind Turbines, as it’s a great stock photography project. The killer shot I think would be a great shot of a whole bunch of turbines from close range. Unfortunately, that’s a tough shot to get depending upon the terrain and access roads. I was able to get these shots of the South Chestnut Wind Farm in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Although I didn’t get the ‘killler’ shot, I still am pleased with these.

I’ve recently begun experimenting with different creative applications of photography, and discovered an amazing software tool that allows me to transform my photographs into paintings, mimicing the style of famous artists. I’m quite pleased with the results, and am considering whether there would be an audience interested in purchasing prints or notecards featuring this type of imagery.

Abstract Concepts: Mannequins and Barbies

My abstract closeups of my mannequin (yes, I have a mannequin head) that I took this evening seemed to fit well with my series called “Frigid Barbies” that I shot during the massive snowstorm last winter. It seems like I’m building on some kind of bizarre theme!

Pennsylvania Photography: Allegheny Cemetery

Photographing cemeteries is, oddly, one of my favorite things to do. There’s something very solitary and calming about it. Allegheny Cemetery is one of the largest and most historic cemeteries in the area. I’ve been there before, and recently had a chance to go back and spend just an hour or so.

Senior Portrait: Lizzie & Alex

These photos of Lizzie and Alex aren’t an official ‘senior portraits’ as they’re no longer seniors. But, they’re so interesting I’d love to include night photography of this type this in my repertoire of possibilities for seniors!

Those of you from North Allegheny may be familiar with this location. It’s taken at the ‘pump house’ on the hill above NAI. The graffiti artists change this graffiti covered building often, and it’s a favorite photography spot of mine. The verse is labeled on the wall Matthew 23: 6-9, but I believe at least part of it is really Mark 13.
